For the sake of record keeping (which I am so bad at doing), here is a little update on our Charlie Boy.
Charlie is 19 months old now, and a big bundle of energy. He is constantly on the go, busy getting into everything, playing with toys (and a lot of non-toy things), being naughty, and constantly making us laugh. Here is a list of facts about Charlie right now.
-Sleeps through the night, from about 7:00-7:00 and naps everyday, usually from 11:00-1:00.
-Has major separation anxiety, unless it involves going to one of his grandma's.
-Absolutely HATES nursery (except for snack time), and has yet to go by himself. Matt or I have to stay with him, or he cries so hard he stops breathing. It's kind of ridiculous.
-He is having a major explosion of language lately, which is SO fun. New words all the time. His most regular words are no, up, down, milk, all done, please, cookie, cracker, cheese, blocks, shoes, ball, book, bite, door, binkie...and Momma! Although he mostly calls Matt momma, and doesn't call me anything. I pretend that it doesn't hurt my feelings ;-) He has also learned a lot of signs from Aubrey, and uses the signs for more, milk, all done, please, blanket, eat, potty, and yes regularly.
-Has started needing to go to time out (hence the picture of him crying above). He does really well with it, and actually stays there, although I never usually leave him there for longer than about 45 seconds to 1 minute.
-He has started being very opinionated lately...and expresses his opinion with very fierce NO's.
-Loves to build with blocks, or take things apart. Loves hiding, going for walks, rough housing, being chased, jumping on grandma and grandpa's trampoline, looking at books, and watching Daniel Tiger.
-Still obsessed with his blanket and bink, and brings them to me often during the day for a little snuggle time.
-Hates: sharing with Aubrey, baths, nursery, having his diaper changed, and getting dressed.
-Has started pointing at his diaper and saying "po-po" when he needs to be changed. Which give me so much hope for his potty-training future.
All in all we are having a fantastic time with this cute little guy! We are experiencing a lot of parenting firsts with him even though he is our second child, and it's really exciting. He keeps us busy, that's for sure. But he is so sweet, and funny, and joyful, and we are so thankful he is ours!
