Physical Therapy
A few days ago, after feeling concerned about Aubrey's inability to hold her head steady, we decided to take her to the doctor and have her examined. We've been told since she was born, that she would meet her physical milestones later because she's such a big girl. Even though she can hold her head up great while on her tummy, she still has very little head/neck control. After looking at her the doctor said she has Torticollis (tightening and shortening of the neck muscles on one side) and hypo tonia (very little muscle tone). He referred us to a pediatric physical therapist. We were able to go to the physical therapist yesterday and get an assessment. Poor Bree:( It was so sad. She is already afraid of strangers, but on top of that the therapist had a cold so he was wearing a mask. So, needless to say she was not a happy girl. But the therapist confirmed what the doctor had said, especially that her muscle tone is quite weak. She is about two months behind in terms of physical strength. So, he gave us some exercises and stretches to do with her everyday, and hopefully her neck muscles will straighten up and become stronger! If she doesn't improve, that is when things get scary. But we aren't going there! We are just really trying to stay positive and send those positive thoughts into the universe:) Keep us in your prayers.

Meh, that just means she's going to be really flexible when she grows up. Maybe she'll be able to put her legs behind her head too! :)
