Silver Lake

One of my favorite things in the world is when Matt has a day off right in the middle of the week.  It's such a treat to change up our normal routine for some family fun.  Thanks to Pioneer Day, Matt was off on Tuesday, so we decided (along with the rest of Utah) to pack up some snacks and take the kids up to Silver Lake for a little fresh air.  This was the first time we've taken Charlie up into the mountains.  It was so cute to watch Matt walk around with Charlie and show him everything.  He kept saying things like "Look, Buddy...this is a pine cone!  Look, there's a duck!  Charlie, this is what a tree feels like!"  I think Matt is really excited for Charlie to be his little hiking/camping buddy someday.

We had such a great time.  Charlie did not fuss ONCE.  I think we need to do this more often, because I think that was the first time in his life that King Charles has gone longer than an hour without screaming.  And Aubrey had a ball running around and exploring.  She actually made it all the way around the lake without needing to be carried...which is improvement from our last visit.
